Land.Tao: Fung Shui Woods

School Learning Model for Nature-based Solutions

Land.Tao: Fung Shui Woods School Learning Model for Nature-based Solutions (Land.Tao) is a school-based project funded by the Lantau Conservation Fund. This pioneering initiative was launched in 2024 where the deep powers of the arts are deployed in academic subjects, fostering creative thinking in both teachers and students. With the establishment of a biodiversity garden based on Fung Shui Woods on the school campus, the project’s unique and innovative educational methodology is predicated on inquiry-based learning – Exploration, Engagement and Experiential teaching and learning achieved through a creative learning system that is applicable across curricula. We aspire to make this pilot model replicable, scalable and, above all, sustainable to benefit all Lantau schools in due course. Land.Tao is part of AFTEC’s “Sea, Land, Sky” trilogy of arts-in-education projects on Lantau Island. Take a look at FLOW with AFTEC@Shalowan (2019) and Flight – Sights, Sounds & Shows @Shalowan (2018) here.
